Do you offer Online Counselling? – I offer counselling via video link as well as in-person. Online sessions are held using an online meeting platform.  Ask for more information.

How do I make an appointment? – You can call or text me on 07391 035003. Email me on [email protected] or send me a message via my Facebook page ‘Lorna Eatherington Counselling & Psychotherapy‘. I can offer a free, short telephone conversation if required.

What is the fee and how do I pay? – A standard 50 minute session is charged at £50. Reduced rates may be offered for those on a low income or with financial difficulties, please ask at time of booking. Payment can be made in cash or via bank transfer before commencement of the session.

Will my sessions be confidential? – YES! As a member of the BACP, I adhere to their ethical framework. There are only a few legal reasons that would require me to break client confidentiality but these will be discussed at our first session and information will be given in writing via the ‘counselling agreement’.

What is the BACP and why is it important? – BACP stands for British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. BACP promotes expertise in counselling and uphold the highest standards of practice. As a registered member of the BACP, I am bound by their ethical framework. To become a registered member of BACP, a minimum standard of proficiency is required.  Check out www.bacp.co.uk for more.

How many sessions will I need? – This varies enormously depending on what you wish to bring to therapy and what your goals are. We will discuss this at your first session and review progress regularly.

What issues can I bring? – Whether it’s a specific issue that’s bothering you or a general feeling of something not being right, counselling can help. I work with ‘here-and-now’ concerns and deep-rooted, historical issues. To give you an idea, here’s some of the things I have worked with before… Depression, Bereavement/Loss, Childhood Trauma, Physical and Emotional Abuse, Low Self-Esteem, Guilt, Shame, Parenting Issues, Relationship Problems, Anxiety, Suicidal Thoughts, Loneliness, LGBTQ Issues.

What Type/Modality of Counselling do you offer? – I am a Humanistic Integrative therapist. I hold a BSc (hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in partnership with Staffordshire University. I integrate a Person Centred approach with aspects of Gestalt, Psychodynamic and Human Development models.

How do I get there? – Langford Road is just off Rolleston Drive, the postcode is NG5 7HR. The Lime Line bus 59 stops at Kiddier Avenue, which is a 2 minute walk from the venue. Alternatively you can get off at the Hinsley Close stop on the 56 route. It is then a 4 minute walk to the venue. Free on-street parking is available. 

Is the counselling room/building wheelchair accessible? – My usual room is on the first floor with no lift access. However, the garden cabin is on the ground floor with 1 small step and a lip on the threshold into the cabin, for clients with reduced mobility.
